Meet Michael

Michael Babel is a husband, proud father, devoted volunteer, and community member. Whether it’s organizing non-profit events, or presenting new policies or claims, serving others has always been near to Michael’s heart. Mountain State Insurance Agency provides him with endless opportunities to go above and beyond for clients.

 

Michael’s integrity and work ethic stems from his childhood, where he tended to a farm and ranch. This led him to roles in large-scale fleet management and insurance sales that moved him around the country for nearly ten years. Over time, he lived in seven states and worked closely alongside insurance professionals while tending to every aspect of the production and service of thousands of policies. All of this prepared him to found Mountain State Insurance Agency.

 

Michael currently lives in his home state of North Dakota with his wife and two sons. When he’s not serving his clients and community, you can often find him fishing, gardening, and smoking meats like ribs and brisket.

Work with Valerie

Valerie Babel grew up in Southern California, meeting her now-husband, Michael, shortly after graduating from high school. She loves the ocean, and sunny weather but, chose to move with Michael to his hometown of Bismarck, ND.

 

Her love for Bismarck has continued to blossom over the past 10 years of living within the community, referencing it as “the perfect place to raise her two sons.” Valerie cherishes the friendly, laid-back community, and is proud to be a part of a business that is local to it.

 

Upon earning her degree in information management, Valerie proceeded to work for a local healthcare company for four years. This prepared her to join Michael at Mountain State Insurance Agency; officially joining the team as a licensed insurance broker in 2020.

 

Valerie enjoys working hand-in-hand with her husband while keeping the office running smoothly, assisting other brokers as they care for their clients, and tending to all aspects of customer service. 

 

When Valerie isn’t working, you can find her spending time with friends and family, kayaking and fishing together. She also enjoys soaking up the sun in Arizona, where her family often vacations.
